That person is Tun Dr.Mahathir or more famously known as Dr.M,is the 4<sup>th</sup> Prime Minister of Malaysia.As the leader of our beloved country,he had brought various contributions which has open <st1:country-region st="on"><st1:place st="on">Malaysia</st1:place></st1:country-region> to the world’s eyes.<o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 27pt;">Dr.M was born in Alor Star and studied in Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid before graduating as a doctor from <st1:placename st="on">Raffles</st1:PlaceName> <st1:placetype st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> in <st1:country-region st="on"><st1:place st="on">Singapore</st1:place></st1:country-region>. He the opened Maha Clinic in downtown Alor Star and became actively involved in politics when he joined UMNO.Soon,his hard work and perseverance landed him a job as a minister in the cabinet and later becoming the prime minister of Malaysia.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 27pt;">As the prime minister, he had brought numerous changes that molded the country, becoming a symbol of greatness. He has a vision, to see <st1:country-region st="on"><st1:place st="on">Malaysia</st1:place></st1:country-region> flourish and developed. Therefore, he constructed a plan, a strategy called vision 2020 compromising development in all areas and sectors ranging from increasing human capital as well as structural growth.Dr.M revamped and improved the educational system, resulting in production of world-class professionals effectively in a short period of time.<o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 27pt;">The country also gain economic growth mainly from the structural developments that Dr.M has made. The construction of mammoth structures like the Kuala Lumpur City Centre(KLCC), Kuala Lumpur International Airport(KLIA) and the <st1:place st="on"><st1:placename st="on">Penang</st1:PlaceName> <st1:placetype st="on">Bridge</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> has directly or indirectly channel or generate income for the country. Dr.M also made diplomatic ties with other growing or developed countries. This ensures steady growth for <st1:country-region st="on"><st1:place st="on">Malaysia</st1:place></st1:country-region> as well as peace.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 27pt;">Dr.M made <st1:country-region st="on"><st1:place st="on">Malaysia</st1:place></st1:country-region> a better place to live in. He ensures the safety of Malaysians by enforcing strict laws against law breakers as well as improving the quality of the police force in <st1:country-region st="on"><st1:place st="on">Malaysia</st1:place></st1:country-region>. Dr.M also tried to improve the quality of lives of the poor and wipe out the homeless</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 27pt;"><o:p> </o:p>Although Dr.M work tirelessly to develop <st1:country-region st="on"><st1:place st="on">Malaysia</st1:place></st1:country-region>, but he is still criticized by others. Some people accused him for ruling as a dictator and practiced Chronis me.Nevertheless ,nothing could break his spirit thus he continued to make decisions based on his principals and democracy rights. His strength endure oppositions from all directions makes him one of the most successful and well known leader in this time.</p> <span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman";">On June 2004, he was awarded the coveted title ‘Tun’ and was noted as the longest serving prime minister in <st1:place st="on">Asia</st1:place>. All in all, Dr.Mahathir has brought about a large impact to all Malaysians. I personally salute to Dr.Mahathir and hope that there will be many Malaysians who will follow in his footsteps. </span><div style="clear:both; padding-bottom:0.25em"></div><p
